Advice for Couples

  1. Make time for each other! Even when you come home exhausted at the end of the day, this is important relationship maintenance: spend at least 4 minutes a day giving your partner your undivided attention. Turn off all screens during this time.

 

  1. Listen! What are your partner's needs? And make sure your needs are heard too.

  2. Simple but helpful: Never discuss important matters on an empty stomach. Glucose is the fuel for the brain, which is also needed to keep reflexive negative feelings in check.

  3. Thinking about moving in together? If possible, move into a new shared apartment.
